NGO accuses Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza

Ramala, Dec 18 (Prensa Latina) The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor accused Israel of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity by destroying entire cities and killing more than 45,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Defense Forces did not limit themselves to killing tens of thousands of people and gradually destroying the lives of two million Gazans, they also eliminated the basic components of survival there, the NGO denounced in a statement.

The Israeli Army “destroys the national and cultural identity of the Palestinians, eradicates their presence in their lands, imposes permanent forced displacement on them, prevents their return, dismantles their communities, and erases their collective memory,” the entity stated.

The current campaign aims to erase the past, present, and future of the people, the NGO said, noting that photographs and images of the Strip confirm the level of destruction, especially in the north, which has been the epicenter of a large ground operation for more than two months. In this regard, the NGO noted that the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern region was completely razed, and numerous neighborhoods in the towns of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun suffered the same fate,

The institution said that the IDF attacked homes, businesses, schools, mosques, and cultural and sports centers that had no military value.

Israel wants to eliminate any material or historical trace that indicates the Palestinian presence in these areas, the NGO stressed and also warned about the statements of several Israeli ministers in defense of the Jewish colonization of Gaza.

According to official data, more than 45,000 Palestinians have died in the enclave since the beginning of the war campaign on October 7th, 2023, while more than 107,000 have been injured.
