In the letter, addressed to Cuban Ambassador Javier Caamaño, they stated they had finished a collection campaign during which they gathered hundreds of donations in kind through houses, corporations, foundations and groups of friends of Cuba after two months.
The document added that during the collection of aid, an operation they called Donatón Solidario, they also raised money to buy other supplies, which would be added to the non-perishable food, medicines and medical-surgical products already collected.
Both groups also informed that the shipment would soon be sent to Cuba as a show of support for the Cuban people.
“Today more than ever we want Colombia to show that solidarity cannot be blocked and that Cuba is not alone,” the letter stated.
