Central America may become tourist multi-destination by 2025

Havana, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban professor and researcher José Luís Perelló foresees Central America as a tourist multi-destination by 2025.

Perelló recalled on his Facebook profile that the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) held the 75th Ordinary Meeting of its Board of Directors, led by the Minister of Tourism of Nicaragua, Anasha Campbell, who holds the Presidency Pro Tempore.

During the session, public and private regional entrepreneurs were briefed on the progress and results deriving from relevant endeavors implemented during the second half of 2024. The presentation was led by Boris Iraheta, Secretary General of CATA.

The meeting highlighted the role of CATA as a key platform seeking to position Central America as a competitive tourist multi-destination at an international level.

The focus on sustainability and accessibility was central to the discussion. The bloc of Central American countries reaffirmed its commitment to adapt the region’s tourism offering to global travel trends, promoting responsible practices that preserve cultural and natural heritage.
