Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office raids house of spokesman

Lima, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) The house of the Peruvian presidential spokesman, Fredy Hinojosa, was arrested today as part of investigations into the supply of horse meat to state schools and in the midst of several allegations against the president and her entourage.

Prosecutors, anti-corruption and anti-organized crime police units raided the house located in the Lima district of Pueblo Libre in the early hours of the morning and the search continued several hours later.

Hinojosa was included in the investigation of the case in the first days of December and the operation included the search of two other houses, one of them belonging to Francisco Burga, a businessman who supplied canned horse meat and other inappropriate food.

According to previous investigations, these products were approved through bribes by health control officials and the Ministry of Social Inclusion, in charge of the school feeding program in state schools.

The facts were reported by a former employee of the program and date back to 2021, when the current president was head of that ministry and Hinojosa headed the program and was deputy minister of the sector, the current minister of the area is Julio Demartini.
