According to the Roscosmos communication published Monday on the Lenta.Ru social page, the documents refer to the Proton-K rocket that carried the Vega-1 and Vega-2 probes into space and disclose the characteristics of the devices and the tasks they were to perform.
The note points out that the flight of Vega-1 lasted 178 days and that of Vega-2, 176 days. The project was a triumph of national science and international cooperation in space exploration.
At that time, Soviet researchers achieved numerous scientific and technological breakthroughs.
The last contact with Vega-1 was made on January 30, 1987, and with Vega-2 on March 24, 1987.
