Lula resumes work in Sao Paulo after leaving hospital

Brasilia, Dec 16 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is recovering from brain surgery and was discharged from hospital on Sunday, resumed his work from his home in the state of Sao Paulo on Monday.

In a post on social media, Lula said that he had started the week working for Brazil.

“I have a plan of goals for our country and I have a cause to defend. To improve the lives of our Brazilian people,” he added in the caption of a photo next to Minister of Economy Fernando Haddad.

After the meeting, Haddad told reporters that he had been surprised by the president’s disposition.

“He is very calm, he is doing things normally, he is cured, he is fine,” he stressed.

Lula was discharged from Sao Paulo’s Syrian-Lebanese Hospital after having undergone surgery to contain an intracranial hemorrhage.

The president will remain in Sao Paulo until at least next Thursday, when he will undergo a re-evaluation.

According to the medical team that is treating Lula, the president will not have any physical or neurological sequels and was recommended at least 15 days of relative rest.
