Debates will run from December 18 to 20, at Havana’s Convention Palace, in the city’s West.
Diaz-Canel is sharing with deputies the joint session of the committees on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Youth, Children and Equal Rights for Women, and Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment.
The legislators are assessing an update document linked to the draft of the law on children, teenagers and young people’s code.
For two days, deputies will focus on issues such as the problems affecting the population and their solution.
They will also discuss amending the science, technology and innovation system, the care system and the accountability of delegates.
The Parliament’s agenda includes the economic plan for 2025 and growth estimates for 2024.
The Assembly is the supreme organ of Cuban State power and the only one with constitutional and legislative capacity. The current legislature is made up of 470 deputies, among whom more than 55 percent are women.
These are elected by free, direct and secret voting, considering the proportion of constituencies.
