Russia is developing despite unprecedented sanctions, says Putin

Moscow, Dec 14 (Prensa Latina) Russia is developing, the economy is growing, and this is happening in spite of sanctions unprecedented in world history, said today president Vladimir Putin, speaking at the 22nd Congress of the United Russia Party.

Putin said that the ruling elites of various states exert pressure and try to interfere in the internal affairs of Russia, which stands out as a unique and distinctive civilization, a diverse and united nation.

He went on to stress the importance of national unity, and emphasized that the very name of the party reflects the essence of the country’s direction, the image of the desired nation, as well as the manners to preserve it and inherit it to future generations.

The awareness that we are a unique and original civilization, a multinational and multi-confessional nation that, despite all its internal diversity has been and will be united, is something extremely important,” said the Russian leader.

“In all historical periods, our adversaries have tried to undermine that unity. “And now they are again following a scenario that has already been prepared for others, trying to divide people, to play the national or religious card,” Putin said.

We will firmly suppress such provocations, and respond to all threats and challenges. We are ready to fight back, as they call it, along the entire front. And not just along the front line.

In fact, the global and decisive confrontation affects all aspects of our lives: culture, education, worldview, economy and the technological sphere,” Putin said.

Russia must set itself more large-scale goals and tasks without delay, added Putin on Saturday, speaking at the 22nd Congress of the United Russia party.

“It is necessary, without further delays, to set new tasks and benchmarks,” the president indicated.
