A diplomatic note stated that Havana’s Ambassador in Roseau, Miguel Fraga, and DLP’s Secretary General, Cassanni Laville, signed the accord.
The agreement provides for political training, communication, delegation exchange, mutual learning, and dialogue, and promotes cooperation to generate concrete benefits for both peoples and political forces.
In his remarks, Laville thanked Cuba for its continued support, and added that the relations with Havana are based on “a shared commitment to social justice, equality, and our people’s empowerment.”
“We have stood together in solidarity for decades, united by our values and the respect that binds our two nations.
Laville affirmed: “Our leader, Prime Minister Skerrit, attaches great value to the relationship between Dominica and Cuba, and has acknowledged Cuba’s contributions to our development. Cuba has been at our side in our most complex moments.”
Fraga, in turn, highlighted Cuba’s commitment to Caribbean integration and international solidarity and stressed that the two nations are united by geography and a history of struggle and hope.
