“We have made progress in the comprehensive working agenda defined by China’s President Xi Jinping, which includes integration, trade, financial cooperation, mining, and industrialization, among others, to benefit our countries,” Arce stated on social media, referring to the meeting held on Friday evening.
Arce and Xi met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 19, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.
Arce attended the meeting accompanied by Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa, Hydrocarbons and Energy Minister Alejandro Gallardo, Economy and Finance Minister Marcelo Montenegro, and Development Planning Minister Sergio Cusicanqui.
Following the meeting of the China-Bolivia Joint Economic and Trade Commission in October, Arce assured that progress was being made in an investment agenda, lithium industrialization, and exports to the Asian nation.
Chinese data show that Bolivian exports reached a historic surplus of 328 million dollars in 2023.
