This summit commemorates the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc by Commander Hugo Chavez (1954-2013) and Fidel Castro (1926-2016), who signed the relevant agreement on December 14, 2004.
The meeting is hosted by the Simon Bolivar Park Convention Center, La Carlota, in Caracas. Representatives from Honduras and Palestine will participate as special guests.
Latin American and Caribbean leaders agreed at the 23rd Alliance Summit held in April this year to extend a special invitation to the Arab country.
They also unanimously approved a special release on the situation in Palestine and called for a just and lasting solution to the conflict by establishing two States, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and guaranteeing the right of return for refugees.
Participants met at Casa Amarilla, the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, to draft a document to outline key lines of action and achieve the objectives of the ALBA Strategic Agenda 2030.
