At the event, which was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, authorities and members of the state mission, Cuban residents in Panama and the national solidarity coordinator, among others, Cuban Ambassador Víctor Cairo highlighted the humanitarian nature of the Cuban Revolution a few days before celebrating its 66th anniversary.
A reflection of this work, as he explained, was the presence at the meeting of more than 1,400 Panamanians who have graduated in Cuba in all these years, mostly in medical sciences, and who currently provide services in their communities.
He also expressed gratitude for the gestures of help in 2024, which ends so complex and amid adversities in the power system, hurricanes and earthquakes, when donations were sent to Cuba to assist the affected families.
Cairo stressed the unwavering faith in victory with which his people also face the blockade of the United States for more than six decades, and which has also been possible thanks to the unconditional support of the Panamanian people, he said.
In the fraternal meeting on Friday, when the work of members of solidarity groups such as Gabriela Rosas, Caridad Teuton and Cuban resident Rolando Cárdenas this year was acknowledged, participants tasted typical dishes and enjoyed folkloric dances by young dancer Nataly León.
In words of gratitude, Rosas reaffirmed the commitment to continue to support the work of love of the Revolution that triumphed in 1959, which selflessly brings education and health care to the most vulnerable and needy sectors of the population.
