According to reports, schools including Delhi Public School East of Kailash, Salwan School, Modern School and Cambridge School were evacuated on Friday after receiving email warnings of explosives placed on the facilities.
This is the second incident in a week and in response, there was also a large deployment of police, firefighters, explosive device detection squads and canine units to carry out thorough searches.
Police has launched a thorough investigation, sources said.
State broadcaster NDTV said the messages were apparently sent by a group operating on the dark web and threatened significant destruction and damage.
‘I’m sure all of you don’t check your students’ bags frequently when they enter schools. Bombs are powerful enough to destroy buildings and injure people,’ the leaked email warned.
The message suggested that the attacks could happen this Friday or tomorrow, days of parent-teacher meetings at some of the schools mentioned.
