According to Bulletin No. 19, the earthquake occurred at 9:09 a.m., local time, and its epicenter was located 34 kilometers southwest of the town of Bartolomé Masó, and 42 southeast of Pilón, both in Granma territory.
The coordinates of the earth tremor were 19.82 degrees north latitude and -76.94 degrees west longitude, and the epicenter was 8.8-kilometer deep.
So far, reports of perceptibility have been received from several locations in Granma and in the municipalities of Guamá and Santiago de Cuba.
Pilón municipality, in Granma, and its surroundings have reported Cuba’s strongest earthquakes in the last 90 years, including two of strong earth tremors last November.
