The Palestinian Media Forum said in a statement that the latest fatality is Iman Al-Shanti, a broadcaster for Sawt Al-Aqsa Radio, who was killed in a bombing on his home in the northern city of Gaza.
“In order to support the oppressed Palestinian people and convey their suffering to the world, journalist Iman Al-Shanti died as a result of a treacherous Israeli bombing,” the text said.
The entity criticized the international silence and the inability to protect communicators in that coastal enclave so that they can carry out their professional duties.
The aim of the attacks against the sector is to silence any other narrative that might challenge the Israeli version, Shorouk Al-Asaad, a member of the general secretariat of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, said recently.
In declarations to the daily Al Quds, he, also a reporter for Radio Monte Carlo International, affirmed that the objective is to intimidate the communicators.
According to the union, in the first 12 months of the war, the army carried out 1,600 attacks against journalists and the media in the occupied territories.
