Cairo’s Foreign Ministry released a communiqué saying it is keeping abreast of the events in the neighboring country, following the coming to power of the opposition militias after the overthrow of President Bashar al-Asad.
This delicate stage of Syria’s history requires the combined efforts of all its people, he stressed.
He also insisted on preserving Syria’s unity and boosting its stability through ‘a comprehensive and inclusive approach from all national forces’.
We advocate the reconstruction of its state institutions and the return of Syria to the place it deserves in both the Arab and international systems, he added.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry recently condemned the massive Israeli strikes that destroyed most of Syria’s military infrastructure and equipment in just two days, including entire squadrons of aircraft, weapons depots, missile systems, ships and radars.
