The 70 competitors of the Vietnamese public security sector also won 36 silver and 33 bronze medals, to distance themselves from the second in the general classification by countries, Indonesia, which won seven titles, six silver medals and four bronze medals.
Finishing in third place was Cambodia, who will return home with four crowns, two runners-up and one bronze medalist.
“The power of the police! Taekwondo police: protectors of the citizens of the world”, was the motto under which the competition, dedicated to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People’s Police and the 20th anniversary of the National Festival of all people who protect national security.
At the opening of the event last Friday, Vietnamese Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang stressed that the competition is not only an opportunity to promote the development of taekwondo, but also a bridge to strengthen cooperation between international police forces for world peace and security.
