“It is a grim reality. Schools are disorganized due to insecurity, teachers abandoned and students deprived of a quality education,” an open letter from the group to the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Augustin Antoine, says.

Teachers are suffering the effects of the economic crisis, they are not well looked after and their quality of life continues to deteriorate, so many decide to leave the country in search of better opportunities, leaving a vacuum in the education system.
It is necessary and urgent to adjust salaries and to grant a debit card to professionals in the sector, to face the high cost of living and the inflation that the country has been experiencing in recent years.
The association also called for school cafeterias in all public schools to combat hunger, a major obstacle to learning.
