The calm in Damascus was interrupted by the sounds of Israeli shelling of military positions and bases around Damascus, in particular the mountains west of the capital where the infrastructure of the army’s fourth division is located.
Israel took advantage of the political situation in the country and its forces occupied Mount Hermon, considered the highest peak in Syria at 1814 meters, as well as occupied a border strip that includes the buffer zone.
