AIW 2024 will bring together leaders and change-makers until December 13th under the theme “Harnessing artificial intelligence (AI), green industrialization and intellectual property for the transformation of Africa” to discuss and implement solutions for sustainable industrial growth within the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The event also proposes to delve into cutting-edge topics, including the transformative potential of AI, the shift towards green manufacturing practices, and the crucial role of intellectual property in driving the competitive advantage of African industries.
These topics are aligned with Africa’s strategic objectives within the framework of Agenda 2063, which emphasizes technological advancement, environmental sustainability, and regional integration. They also focus on key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, mineral beneficiation, food processing, and automotive industries, promoting African capacity for high-value production and intra-African trade.
Africa Industrialisation Week is an annual African Union initiative established in 2018 to unleash the continent’s potential in the global economy.
By mobilizing stakeholders, AIW positions itself as a central forum to boost dialogue, ease investments, and enhance the continent’s competitiveness on the world stage.
