The official expressed his opinion during his meeting in Tokyo with the President of the House of Councillors of Japan, Sekiguchi Masakazu, in which they praised the level of ties between the two nations.
Bilateral relations are currently at their best stage, with high political trust and close exchanges at all levels, said Thanh Man, who thanked his host for the more than 30 years of Official Development Assistance (ODA) provided to Vietnam.
The Vietnamese authority called for implementing similar new-generation programs, with high incentives and flexible procedures for large infrastructure projects. Vietnam hopes that Japan will support its industrialization, modernization, construction of an independent and deeply integrated economy, and the advancement in infrastructure, institutions, and human resources.
Thanh Man also praised Japan’s new policy on foreign workers, which changed the “Technical Internship Training” program to the “Training and Work System,” and called for expanding the number of Vietnamese professionals and interns.
The two leaders agreed to highlight parliamentary cooperation as an important channel in bilateral relations expressing their satisfaction over the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Vietnam’s National Assembly and Japan’s House of Councillors.
Than Man held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru on Thursday, proposing that Japan promote cooperation with Vietnam in infrastructure investment, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, digital transformation, semiconductors, and other fields where it has strengths.
The prime minister, in turn, noted the fruitful development of relations between the two nations and expressed his belief that Vietnam would make further progress and soon become a leading country in Asia.
