Speaking from Dakar, Senegal’s capital, Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo said that with the opening of the diplomatic mission honors the memory of the ancestors, as part of a process of reconnection with Mother Earth and culture.
For her part, the ambassador in Senegal, Claudia Mosquera, said she will work hard to promote the Africa-Colombia Strategy 2022-2026 thus contributing to make a difference in the world.
The Minister of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Senegal, Biramm Diop, assured that the opening of this Embassy proves the consolidation of bilateral relations and marks progress in the construction of new bases to achieve the best levels of relations between both countries.
The Colombian Foreign Ministry added that the country has already exported its first batch of coffee to Senegal and will continue working to strengthen trade ties and reinforce exchanges in the areas of culture, sports and history, for the well-being and growth of both peoples.
The diplomatic office in Bogotá stressed that Colombia considers the the African Union’s Strategy 2063 a favorable framework to deepen political and commercial relations.
