The Executive referred to the position of the Governments of Guatemala, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Panama, stating that they do not recognize the independence and sovereignty of the countries of the block, in evident servility to extra-regional interests.
Nicaragua rejected the improper features of fraternal cultures and duties, in a world where ignorance and irresponsibility leave backwardness and painful occurrences to people who cry out for the right to live safely and peacefully, advancing against imposed poverty.
“Denying Nicaragua’s right to occupy the space that corresponds to us in the General Secretariat of SICA is interventionism and denying SICA itself and condemning it to its gradual extinction due to non-functionality and disintegration,” the statement added.
“The Nicaraguan government does not doubt that what has happened is of interest to foreign agents, “who seem to dominate those who maintain these positions alien to the supreme interest of our people. (…) As Central Americans, where History has united us in heroic battles against foreign invaders, we declare that we are not condemned to failure,” the document underscored.
“May this December of brotherhood and family open minds to reflection on the value of a united and strong Central American homeland, which defends our people from extortion and from all the risks that we live and face,” the statement stressed, adding that this is a new call to consider the common good, and to banish the madness that is sold in the form of egotistical and childish fantasies and nightmares and absurd desires for imposition and power of some over others.
