The Taganana room, at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, hosted the presentation of the committee composed of prestigious directors, screenwriters, actors and filmmakers in general.
Fiction jury: Maria Lourdes Cortés (Costa Rica); Tristan Bauer (Argentina); Jaime Tenorio (Colombia); Fernando Coimbra (Brazil) and the renowned Cuban actor Jorge Perugorría, National Film Award winner (2024).
Opera Prima jury: Cuban filmmaker Patricia Ramos, who competed in the previous edition with the film “Una Noche con los Rolling Stone” (A Night with the Rolling Stones), and moviemakers Miguel Schverdfinger (Argentina) and Felipe Gálvez (Chile).
Short Films jury: filmmakers Inti Herrera (Cuba), Ignacio Catoggio (Argentina) and Inés Branco (Portugal).
Documentary jury: José Luis Rovano (Chile) and Manuel Herrera (Cuba). Animation jury: Adriana Fresquet (Argentina) and Guillermo Ochoa (Cuba).
Screenplay jury: Cuban writer Francisco López Sacha, Diego Corsini (Argentina) and David Muñoz Guerrero (Colombia).
The rest of the categories are Poster, with Nelson Ponce (Cuba), Xavier Bermúdez (Mexico) and Diego Vainesman (Argentina).
Other Territories was included this year as part of a great effort by the filmmakers and is made up of Dominic Agerame (US) and Luisa Marisy and Mario Masvidal (Cuba).
The ARRECIFE category is made up of Nicolás Subirán (Spain), Sergio Cabrera (Cuba) and Phillipo Ascione (Italy).
As for the jury of the International Federation of Cinematographic Press (Fipresci), it is made up of Ramón Cabrera (Cuba), Valentina Giraldo (Colombia) and Steffen Moestrup (Denmark).
The Cuban Catholic Association for Communication (Signis) will also present its award and the jury is made up of Jorge Villa and Rachel Diez (Cuba), and Alejandro Caro (Chile).
The Quijote jury includes Lázaro Alderete and Aramis Acosta (Cuba), and Enrique García (US).
The collateral awards will be announced on December 13, while the Coral Awards will be announced at the closing gala of the Festival on the same day at night.
