The measures, published under Order No. 14 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, establish the freezing of movable, immovable and other assets of the companies Terradyne Brown Engineering, BRINC Drones, Rapid Flight, Red 6 Solutions, Shield AI, Scenics, Firestorm Labs, Quietus Drone Systems, Havoc AI, Nieros Technologies, Cyberlex, Domo Tactical Communications and Group W in Chinese soil, in addition to prohibiting any type of transaction or cooperation with organizations or individuals in the country.
Six senior executives of said companies (Barbara Borgonovi, Gerald Huber and Charles Woodburn, among others) will face the freezing of their assets in China, the prohibition of carrying out economic activities with Chinese entities, and the denial of entry into the country, including the regions of Hong Kong and Macao.
The measure responds to the recent sale of arms from the United States to Taiwan, valued at 385 million dollars. Beijing considers this action a serious violation of the principle of One China and the three joint communiqués between both countries.
For the Chinese Foreign Ministry, this violates the sovereignty and security interests of China, sends an erroneous message to the Taiwanese independence forces, damages bilateral relations, and endangers peace and stability in the Strait.
China presented a formal protest to the United States and demanded the immediate suspension of the sale of arms and support to the separatists, who promoted the independence of Taiwan.
Beijing stressed that the Taiwan issue is the core of China’s vital interests and the first insurmountable red line in relations between the two nations.
