We appreciate the unforgettable position expressed by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, in which he rejected terrorism and expressed support for Syria’s sovereignty and non-interference in its internal affairs, the minister said during a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Luis Mariano Fernandez at the cabinet headquarters.
Boustajeh highlighted the deep friendship and solid relations between Damascus and Havana, and stressed the need to strengthen them in all fields.
I take advantage of this meeting to reiterate our admiration for Cuba and its resistance, and also to condemn the unjust blockade imposed on the Cuban people by the Government of the United States, Boustajeh stated.
The official considered that both Syria and Cuba face a common enemy represented by imperialism, which seeks to impose sanctions and undertake hostile actions to subdue sovereign countries in the world.
The Cuban ambassador, in turn, called to follow up on the implementation of the agreements signed and other documents that are about to be penned in order to boost relations, particularly in the fields of health care, higher education, sports and culture.
He reiterated Cuba’s stance in support of Syria and its sovereignty in the face of Israel’s aggression and in condemnation of US occupation of the national territory.
