Gyurta welcome López at the Foreign Ministry and voiced his satisfaction at having hold that meeting with him and having the opportunity of exchanging views with the Cuban champ on his lifetime outstanding achievements.
The Hungarian official particularly highlighted the significance and greatness of the Cuban sportsman’s feats at the Olympics, by virtue of five golds he garnered and praised his stature as a model of sportsmanship.
Gyurta, himself and Olympic and world swimming monarch, also alluded to the existing potential to strengthen bilateral relations between Hungary and Cuba in various sports disciplines.
He also reiterated his commitment to visit the island in 2025 and sign several cooperation agreements.
The 42-year-old López acknowledged all the courtesies extended to him in Hungary and stressed his full support to the initiatives for the joint development of sports between both nations.
The Cuban ambassador to the European country, Guillermo Vázquez, and the Hungarian Olympic wrestling champion Tamas Lorincz, also attended the meeting.
