Indonesia plans to implement oil palm to produce biodiesel

Jakarta, Dec 2 (Prensa Latina) Indonesia is set to implement the B40 biodiesel program, based on the most abundant of its crops, the oil palm, starting on January 1, 2025.

At the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC), Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs in this nation, highlighted at a press briefing the usefulness of the initiative.

The program aims to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by up to 40 million tons annually.

Indonesia is the world’s largest producer of palm oil, an essential ingredient in the manufacture of a wide array of goods, including food, and the most widely used vegetable oil globally.
