The workers, despite the shortage of raw materials, have guaranteed important productions of sewing threads, surgical gauze and flat fabrics, among other products.
The general director of the factory, Victor Perez, noted that in view of the need to venture into new alternatives, they already have the liquid and improved carbonate for the manufacture of paint and fabrics for textile making.
He urged the workers to produce with maximum efficiency in the face of fuel and electricity shortages, as well as spare parts, which will allow them to meet their commitments to deliveries for the manufacture of school uniforms, surgical gauze and other fabrics.
During the commemorative event, at which founders and other outstanding workers were decorated, the words of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro on December 2, 1979, were recalled, when he referred to the landing of the Granma yacht in 1956 at Playa las Coloradas, in eastern Cuba:
“… for us to commemorate a day like today, a date like that which we remember as if we had just lived it with an event like this, with an example like this that you gave, builders of Villa Clara, people of Villa Clara, is a great stimulus and a reason for pride, for which we not only congratulate you, but we express our deepest gratitude.”
And Fidel added that the people responded as they always do, thousands, tens of thousands of Villa Clara residents – as explained here today – after their labor day in other centers was over, came to give their contribution to this work, so that the entire people of Santa Clara participated.
