Cuban radio and television directors win awards (+Photos)

Caibarién, Cuba, Dec 1 (Prensa Latina) Directors Oslayda María Machado and Alberto Luberta won the Grand Prize at the Santamareare Radio and Audiovisual Festival, held in this central Cuban city, for their works "La Travesía Mágica" (The Magic Journey) and "La Flor del Marabú" (The Sickelbush Flower).

Machado was granted the Best Director award for his program on the CMHW radio station, “Travesía Mágica,” in which children, through songs and poems, abound in their fascinating world.

Luberta, in turn, won the award for directing “La Flor del Marabú,” based on a script by Lili Romero, which addresses the issue of families who are forced to live in shelters after losing their homes due to weather or other factors.

In this conflict, actor Eme Fonseca was awarded for his leading role, as announced by the jury.

In the radio script section, the awards went to Angel Luis Martínez for his work “Cenizas de la Espera” (Waiting Ashes), while the audiovisual award went to Arístides Gil Acejo for his song “Happy Birthday.”

At the 40th edition of the event, the radio award for an actresse was granted to Mirtha Lilia Pedro Capó, while the best actor was Kiusler del Castillo for his role in “Las Hermanas Brontë” (The Brontë Sisters) on the provincial radio station CMHW.

Yanier Beltrán won the award as Radio Announcer for the program “El Guateque de Mi Bohío.”

The award for best photography went to Geordanys Santana for “Levedad” (Lightness), while the prize for Best Female Performance in Audiovisuals went to Alejandra de la Caridad Hernández for her leading role in the play “Maité.”

The Agesta in Memoriam Award went to actress Mirtha Lilia Pedro Capó for her masterful role in the drama “Segunda Voz”(Second Voice), and director Maritza Jiménez was chosen Artist of Merit from Cuban Radio.
