The outlet previously broadcasted images of clashes between protesters and police on Rustaveli Avenue, where opposition members were shown burning containers and wooden furniture, and trying to repel law enforcement.
Clashes between law enforcement and protesters occurred sporadically. Police used water cannons and tear gas. Several people were arrested. The protesters did not resist the guards.
The rally in Tbilisi began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobajidze said on Thursday that the ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party had decided not to put the issue of accession talks with the European Union (EU) on the agenda until the end of 2028.
Kobajidze also refused all budgetary subsidies from the community. According to the head of the government, the reasons are the constant blackmail of the EU on the issue of starting a dialogue, demands to annul several laws passed by parliament, and calls to impose sanctions on the Georgian authorities.
