Presented by the Dominican Association of Security Companies, the study shows that violent robberies stand at 5.4 percent and that 64 percent of criminals resort to firearms.
It also states that 25 percent of the victims do not report assaults because they do not trust the authorities’ efficiency, and only 30 percent do so.
Of the total number of people who turn to police for help, 76 percent are dissatisfied with the authorities’ performance while 22 percent are satisfied with the agencies’ performance.
The report also concludes that four out of ten people currently feel less safe in their homes than they did before the Covid-19 pandemic that shut down the world in 2020.
