The announcement was made by China’s Satellite Navigation Bureau during a symposium in the capital commemorating the 30th anniversary of the system’s launching.

According to the plan, the roadmap envisions key technological advances by 2025, the launch of three experimental satellites in 2027 and the start of deployment of the network in 2029. The full system is expected to be operational by 2035.

The next version will offer real-time high-precision navigation, positioning and timing services, ranging from meters to decimeters, covering both the Earth’s surface and near-Earth spaces.

In addition, the constellation will be optimized with satellites in high, medium and low orbits to improve space-time accuracy and autonomous system capabilities.

The project also envisages the integration of a more efficient ground infrastructure, enabling uninterrupted operations, continuous data exchange and flexible resource allocation.
