Alleged attack from Iraqi resistance targets US bases in Syria

Damascus, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) Two illegal US military enclaves in northeastern and eastern Syria have been targeted by drone and missile attacks, seemingly launched by the Iraqi resistance, if patterns lately quoted the US Defense Department are to be heeded.

The US has acknowledged some 125 armed actions against its military enclaves in Syria since October 2023, all claimed by the Iraqi Islamic Resistance, an ally of the Syrian army in the fight against terrorism and occupation

Syrian media, citing local activists, reported on Friday that in the first action, several missiles fwere ired from desert areas against the US airbase in the Conoco gas field facilities in Syria’s Deir Ezzor province, some 450 kilometers northeast of Damascus.

According to sources, the airstrike hit a training center for the Syrian Democratic Forces, a US-backed separatist militia. Later helicopters were spotted hovering over the area.

Another drone attack targeted the al-Tanf military base on Syria’s border with Iraq and Jordan.
