Havana, Nov 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuban tourism authorities once again betting on Canadian tourism, judging by reports on renown media related to the travel industry.

A Canadian Courier issue, which made it to Havana on Thursday, informed that on November 20, the director of the Cuban Tourism Board, Lessner Gomez, lauded Cuba’s attractions for Canadian visitors, during a meeting at Toronto’s X Hotel.

Gomez acknowledged the cooperation from all parts involved, for their support and unwavering efforts, as he addressed 160 travel agents, tour operators, media, and hotel partners.

In the aftermath of a summer-autumn season plagued by natural disasters an d other complexities, the executive stressed that Cuba remains a dream destination, known for its paradise-like beaches, friendly people, and excellent price-quality relationships.

Cuba hopes to receive this winter season more than 4,000 flights from 21 Canadian gateways with those flights arriving in Cuba’s main resorts of Varadero, Jardines del Rey, Santa Clara, Cienfuegos, Holguin, Manzanillo, and Cayo Largo.

Additionally, Sunwing will introduce flights to eastern Camagüey, a heritage city known as the hidden gem in Cuba, and facilitate access to Santa Lucia, an ideal beach destination for scuba diving.

Despite the impact of Hurricane Rafael, which temporarily closed some airports in western Cuba, the recovery was quick and efficient, the publication stated.
