The event, which will analyze current challenges and progress achieved, both nationally and in the global context, is a room for dialogue and action that reinforces the joint fight against this crime that violates the human rights and dignity of millions of people around the world.
According to what the Minister of the Interior, Juan Fernando Cristo, said on the previous opening day the day, there are three fronts on which it is necessary to work better in to combat this threat.
He then mentioned the difficulties the State presents in articulating a public policy; the need to strengthen international cooperation scenarios, especially in judicial and police material; and the importance of using the full potential of technology to combat and prevent the crime of human trafficking.
The Ministry of the Interior is currently intensifying its efforts to prevent this problem and protect victims, with special emphasis on the District of Cartagena, due to the particularities of the territory.
The strategy includes comprehensive actions aimed at strengthening institutional capacities and promoting inter-institutional cooperation to protect and assist victims, advance the investigation and prosecution processes and address the consequences of this scourge.
