For that purpose, progress is being made in two projects and there are large investments, he added, according to a report on national television.
During a meeting with residents of the Cienfuegos municipality of Lajas, the president commented that three photovoltaic parks are being built in the province, and noted that the incorporation of more than 200 megawatts from renewable sources of photovoltaic energy is expected in April 2025.
“These are tough times, but they can be overcome. And we are doing things to overcome them, and above all, to overcome them with the participation of the population,” he stressed.
Díaz-Canel assured that the Cuban people are wise and constantly propose solutions to the complex situation that the nation is going through.
In another point in his speech, he pointed out that independently of the US Government, Cuba remains firm in its socialist model and is willing to dialogue in conditions of equality and respect, always safeguarding its sovereignty.
For us, the results of these elections are not new. It was a foreseen scenario, he said.
The Cuban head of State pointed out that two mandates of different parties have maintained the same position of hostility against Cuba; “and we have been doing that every year in the Revolution.”
Díaz-Canel stressed that Cuba has suffered the consequences of the blockade, such as the shortages of food and medicine, but it maintains the conviction of moving forward through “creative resistance.”
He added that this concept is not about “resisting, but resisting and creating as when we faced the pandemic, that we were able to overcome it because our scientists created vaccines and our social system focused everything on saving human lives.”
