Reyes was a six-time national champion and five-time winner of the prestigious Giraldo Cordova Cardin tournament, in addition to winning gold medals in five Central American and Caribbean Games and one continental event.
He also gleaned golds in the 1984 Friendship Tournament, the 1989 Challengers Match, and the 1985 and 1989 Spartakiads of Friendly Armies.
On X, the president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER), Osvaldo Vento Montiller, expressed his condolences to his relatives and friends and deeply mourned the death of the sporting glory.
