In a post on X, the minister updated the data corresponding to the epidemic’s behavior until November 23, and the possible Mpox cases once again exceeded 800, as has been happening for several weeks.
Kamba stated that 893 suspected cases, including 42 confirmed ones and nine deaths, were recorded, and stressed that no deaths among those confirmed contagions were registered.
He added that the lethality rate has increased from 0.21 percent to one percent, and South Kivu and Equateur are the most affected provinces. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, some 49,566 suspected cases have been reported, 10,846 of which have been confirmed and 1,193 deaths have been registered.
