Cuban artist fills Havana with kisses at 15th Biennial (+Photos)

Havana, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) A work that catches the public's attention in the recently inaugurated space, Detrás del Muro, located in the seawall of this capital, is the mural "Te llenaré de besos Habana".

Exhibited in the context of the 15th Havana Biennial, which will run until February 28, celebrating its 40th anniversary, this creation is the work of Cuban artist Diana Almeida.

The artist told Prensa Latina that the mural: Te llenaré de besos Habana, is a gift to the city on its 505th anniversary and is her way of giving love to this city and at the same time sharing it with passers-by and visitors.

The huge work has a white background, which according to the author represents the purity of love, and many red lips that fill the wall like kisses.

The piece contrasts with the surroundings of demolished buildings, and Almeida emphasizes that it gives a sense of hope to this space on Havana’s Malecon.

In addition, according to what she said in the interview, the artist takes advantage of the acceptance and curiosity aroused by the mural to photograph couples in love giving each other a kiss.

The aim is to create another series of works for a future personal exhibition, the young exponent of visual arts confessed.

Diana is part of the Detrás del muro (Dedelmu) project this year, along with dozens of Cuban and foreign artists whose works, in different techniques, styles and materials, are exhibited on the South Sidewalk of the seawall.
