Syria stands with the respect and preservation of Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and rejects the false Israeli accusations against it, Alaa said in his remarks quoted by the press here, before the extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Arab League held at the level of permanent delegates in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.

He said Damascus is aware that the Zionist threats to extend the aggression to the countries of the region demonstrate the persistence of the occupier to continue its genocidal war against Gaza and the West Bank, and its barbaric aggression against Lebanon and the Syrian territories, to bring the region to further escalation.

The accusations and threats to attack Iraq are part of the systematic disinformation campaigns promoted by the occupying entity, to justify the escalation of its attacks against Syria and expand its aggression in the region, the diplomat said.

On the other hand, he denounced Israeli violations along the line of separation of forces in the Golan area. Israeli troops recently dug large trenches along the ceasefire line in the north and south of the separation zone in the Golan, in addition to razing agricultural land and building roads, to create a new reality in the region.
