Pakistan and Belarus to define future bilateral cooperation

Islamabad, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will begin a three-day official visit to Pakistan, during which the signing of the trade roadmap to outline future bilateral collaborations is expected.

Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and diplomatic authorities received a Belarusian ministerial delegation headed by Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov at the Islamabad airport on Sunday.

During Lukashenko’s stay in Pakistan, delegations from both countries are expected to finalize several agreements, as a significant step in the consolidation of economic and strategic ties between the two nations. The president is scheduled to meet with his counterpart Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani military leadership. According to official sources. The talks will cover several spheres, including modern agricultural techniques, improving trade and strengthening security and defence relations.

For the Pakistani authorities, this opportunity reflects the strong and growing partnership between the two countries, and is aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation between Islamabad and Minsk.

Earlier in October, Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko discussed ways to strengthen military and defence cooperation between the two countries. General Munir acknowledged Belarus’ contribution to regional and world peace and expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance collaboration in that sector in the future.

Sharif and Golovchenko welcomed the impetus given to ties by regular high-level exchanges. Both agreed on the need to harness the full potential of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, agricultural machinery and joint production of tractors and connectivity.

Golovchenko expressed satisfaction with the positive direction of bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed the desire to further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, through joint efforts in all spheres of common interest .
