Emotional message dedicated to Fidel Castro in Sri Lanka

Colombo, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Nisha Fernando, a Sri Lankan medical graduate from Cuba, dedicated an emotional text today to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of his physical disappearance.

In the message, delivered to the Cuban embassy in Colombo, Fernando expressed her gratitude, admiration and love for Fidel Castro, for his humanism in providing the opportunity to study to children from various parts of the world.

The Sri Lankan doctor described the historic Cuban leader as a great force for Cuban children and those from other countries that suffered wars, whom, according to her testimony, Fidel educated and protected, without distinction.

Fernando pointed out that in her daily work she follows the march and the example instilled by Fidel Castro of humanism and love.

The day before, members of the Association of Graduates in Cuba in Sri Lanka and the embassy of the Caribbean nation paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

At the event, chaired by Ambassador Andrés González and by Chiththadhamma Rathnamudali, president of the organization and other members of the board, flowers were placed before a bust of Fidel and the flags of both countries, the diplomatic mission in Havana reported.

According to the source, directors and members of the Sri Lankan organization highlighted the validity of Fidel’s example, calling him a beacon of inspiration for all and conveyed beautiful messages of gratitude and admiration for his figure and legacy.

On the other hand, González underlined Fidel’s drive and perseverance in promoting ties of cooperation with other countries with the training of foreign students through scholarships and courses in institutions in the Caribbean nation.

An example of these actions are the graduates from Sri Lanka, he specified. The diplomat also referred to the activities for the 66th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 2025, which, he assured, will be celebrated with joy, enthusiasm and confidence in the future and always under the guidance of the ideas and example of its historic leader Fidel Castro.

A worthy tribute to Fidel, whose ideas and thoughts will always endure, he confirmed.
