The exhibition, including the participation of Cuban teenagers living in this Central American country, is on display at the Consulate of the Caribbean nation and is the result of the “Fidel en Nuestros Corazones” (Fidel In Our Hearts) contest, an initiative launched at the diplomatic headquarters.

The works, created by the contestants, highlight Fidel’s face, his grades as a Commander-in-Chief, the Latin Americanist vision, the flag, the countryside’s landscapes, and the Sierra Maestra mountain range, places from where the Cuban leader fought and conquered the triumph in January 1959.

Camila Martinez did not participate in the painting, she preferred to use a pen and a blank sheet of paper to express in a letter how a young woman of her time observes and recalls Fidel.

Before members of the diplomatic headquarters and the Association of Cuban Residents in Nicaragua, Martinez recalled on Sunday that Fidel Castro’s ideas and words make a difference and follow the context of current situations.
