On the occasion, the Foreign Ministry of the Caribbean island ratified the will to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Diplomatic ties between the Caribbean island and Türkiye date back to 1952 and have been characterized by mutual respect and a positive atmosphere, strengthened by frequent high-level visits.

Türkiye has maintained a strong position of support at the UN General Assembly in favor of the resolution urging an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
