The meeting will take place in the province of Benguela with the aim of accelerating the attraction of the necessary investments for this important regional project, which could connect the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean.

Angolan Foreign Minister Téte António referred to the Lobito Corridor as part of the policies promoted by his country aimed at the inclusive and integrated development of the Great Lakes Region.

This important infrastructure connects Angola, Zambia and the DRC, but its benefits extend beyond, the minister stressed on Sunday during the 18th ordinary session of the Inter-Ministerial Committee of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), in which Angola reaffirmed its commitment to actions to find a peaceful solution to the conflicts in the area, particularly in the DRC and Sudan.

This was one of the topics addressed at the meeting, which aimed to discuss and analyze the main aspects that characterize the current political, security and regional cooperation situation.

The ICGLR includes Angola, Burundi, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, the DRC, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
