Lebanese army confirms casualties from Israeli strike

Beirut, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) The Lebanese Army confirmed that one soldier was killed and 18 others injured, including some seriously, as a result of an Israeli attack on a checkpoint in the south of the country.

Media reports indicated that the Israeli enemy attacked the Lebanese armed forces directly from a newly deployed artillery unit on Chamaa Hill.

The national newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that fire extinguishers managed to put out the fire that broke out in the storage facilities of the Aamriyeh checkpoint on the road between Tyre and Naqoura.

According to Lebanese political analyst Khalil Nasrallah, Israel wants pressure on the army leadership and the state to submit to its conditions after the ceasefire.

Based on the expert, Tel Aviv seeks to confront the Army with the Lebanese Resistance (Hezbollah) and the image also shows the massacre committed against the Armed Forces when it gave in to American pressure by not arming them to repel any aggression.

On Thursday, Army Commander General Joseph Aoun reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty, at an event marking the 81st anniversary of Independence Day.
