India-Caricom 2024 Summit ends with mutual benefits

Georgetown, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) The India-Caribbean Community (Caricom) Summit 2024 ended with benefits for all parties, engaged in today’s challenges of climate change, renewable energy, health, and food security.

The summit, which took place in Guyana, will help raise health standards by purchasing generic drugs, drug testing laboratories, radiation technology, cancer therapy, dialysis machines, and sea ambulances.

The Caribbean region seeks to diversify its energy matrix and promote collaboration in strengthening maritime connectivity for market development and consolidation.

Renewable energy, energy efficiency, trade, and investment in this area can be developed through collaboration with India.

Cooperation can help promote decentralized solar applications including, but not limited to, roofs, mini and micro grids, desalination units, and battery storage.

Participants coincided with the importance of the Caricom Agri-Food Systems Agenda, a scheme aimed at strengthening the current security of the sector in the region by reducing the import bill by 25% by 2025.
