The performance is part of the “Days of St. Petersburg in Cuba” event, a cultural exchange that celebrating the rich artistic tradition of both countries.
Recognized internationally for its excellence and legacy, the Russian company came to Havana boasting a cast of outstanding soloists and a prestigious choreographers and technicians.
Cuban balletgoers area likely to be in for an unforgettable night, as they relish a repertoire that includes such classics such as “Swan Lake,” “St. Petersburg, a Golden Dream” and “La Guantanamera.”
Besides the unique opportunity forl ballet aficionados, the event comes as a safe bet to strengthen cultural ties between both countries, said a statement from the Ministry of Culture of Cuba.
Beginning on November 20 and running through the 26th, the St. Petersburg Days will include round tables on cooperation in education, restoration and conservation of cultural heritage, library science, tourism, culture and information technology.
Adding to them will be master classes in singing, choreography and chess that will open new horizons for participants and spectators.
Other attractions are the screening of cinematic works by the Lenfilm studio, featuring Soviet and Russian classics.
Exhibitions depicting St. Petersburg will open in different Havana spots, and its beauties will also appear in videos of the best operas, ballets and symphonic concerts by award-winning companies from that city.
