During a phone talk, Abdelatty expressed to his counterpart, Cairo’s concern over the continuous escalation in the region and reiterated the importance of exercising restraint during this sensitive period.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to provide political and humanitarian support to that country.

Abdelatty also noted the urgency of ending the fighting in the Gaza Strip, where more than 44,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023.
